Hayden's studio portrait!

Today we had our 3D/4D ultrasound. Wow, was it an awesome experience!! The only issue we had was that little Hay baby wouldn't get his hands off his face!!! We tried all sorts of tricks and angles, but he was just wanting to play peekaboo... Even though, we still got some great shots and really enjoyed getting to see what our little man looks like. Below are some of the better shots! When we finished, the lady had a little moose and his recorded heartbeat to put it in, so Adam got Hayden his first official stuffed moose!! It's pretty cute. Hope everyone enjoys seeing our little man as much as we did. I recommend it to anyone having a baby!

24 weeks

Today I had my 24 week appointment! WOW! Where did the time go? I can't believe there is just over 3 more months till my little man is here! Anyway, things looked good at the check up. I took the gestational diabetes test and passed. I had to drink an orange drink that tasted similar to a watered down popcycle. It actually turned out to be a fun event because the women in the waiting room were cheering me on as I had to get the whole bottle down in 3 minutes!! Felt like I was back in College Station! (just kidding!) But I am so glad that is over. So I go back again in 4 week, then start going every 2 after that (I will be 30 weeks at that point). For those who don't count in weeks, Hayden's due date is the 40th week. So time sure is starting to fly by!

On June 3rd, Adam and I are going in for a 3D/4D sonogram. I am very excited! I have heard that you really can tell exactly what your baby looks like in these. So I am thrilled I get to see his little face! We will be getting a few pictures in color, some in black and white, and then a video of it. I will post those once we go.

Little man finally took the initiative to kick for Daddy the other day. I got 3 swift kicks to the stomach before I grabbed Adam's hand and put it on the spot. Sure enough, about 15 seconds later, Hayden kicked. I was super excited that he finally was able to feel him kick. He moves around so much during the day and I think people wonder if I am just talking to myself when I say things to my stomach. At least Adam knows I am not making it up! hehe (c:

I am going to try and start updating this blog a little more often, so stay tuned for more news soon!! We love you all!!

22 weeks

This upcoming Wednesday will mark my 23rd week. Time is starting to fly by and that's exciting and scary all at the same time!! Our next doctors appointment is on the 20th and I have to go through the gestational diabetes testing. I've heard from a lot of other mommy's that it is not a fun day. Basically I have to drink a bottle of this syrup stuff and then wait an hour to test my sugar levels. YUCK! If that test doesn't come back good, I have to go in for a 3 hour test. I am praying all is well and I won't have to go back!!! Either way, it's good to know. I want a happy healthy Hayden!! Say a little prayer for me and little man!

Hayden is starting to get a wonderful assortment of things from friends and family. We are so thankful to everyone who has already given us gifts and items for him. (Onsies, and bibs, and booties, OH MY!) He is even begining to get a collection of Aggie things!! Let the brain washing start!!! WHOOP!! But that aside, every little thing we receive is a huge blessing and you are all such an important part of ours and Hayden's lives. Thank you!!!

This past weekend was such a great weekend! We got to spend some time with both sides of Hayden's grandparents, great-grandparents, his aunt, and his uncles to be!! He is going to be a very loved little boy! Then on Mother's Day, I was surprised when I woke up to a sweet gift and mom to be card from Adam. I got the most beautiful necklace!!! I don't think he realizes how much it means to me!

I will always cherish this. Adam is going to be such a great Dad!

Hope all the other mommy's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Baby Bump

I've had several requests to post a baby bump picture. So here is my very round and plump self...with a little Hayden tucked away in there somewhere. I'm 21 weeks along in this picture and I think I grow a little every week.

Half way there and a name!

I officially reached 20 weeks on Wednesday. Time sure does fly! I had my 20 week check up and things were still looking good. Heartbeat was around 155 and he's kicking up a storm. It's always nice to feel him and know he's ok. Other than that, last week we came up with a name. Here's the little story behind it. We had been mulling over a few names that we kind of liked, but nothing was really sticking. So one night, I got the idea to peruse the Colorado state map and see if any small towns had good names. Adam and I are both HUGE Colorado buffs. We came across the name Hayden in the north west area of Colorado and became hooked on the name. So his name is Hayden James Davenport. James is a family name on Adam's side that his granddad, dad, and little brother all have, so we wanted to honor his family in that. Then I was talking to my dad and found out that I have an ancestor named Basil Hayden! So little did we know we covered both families in our name selection! I am very happy with the name and it just seems to fit him perfectly! I can't wait to meet my little Hayden man in September!

It's a BOY!!!

Well, we found out last thursday (April 9th) that we are having a little boy! This is what we both wanted and I am just so in love with my little man. He measured just on target at his sonogram and looked just about as cute as can be. That's his current portrait in the right hand corner. We got to see his little hands, arms, legs, and spine. Wow, the spine was the most amazing part. So much detail in that sono. Unfortunately the tech printed us a very sloppy version of it. All we were able to get was a profile of his head and a shot to show he's definitely a boy. But we are hoping to get the 3D ultrasound somewhere a little later in the pregnancy.

I have started to feel him periodically throughout the day, especially when I am laying down. It's such a neat feeling. Feels like little pops throughout my stomach. It just makes me fall in love with him even more. I can't wait to meet my little man. September 9th sounds so far away, but I know it will be here faster than I realize.

I am currently 18 weeks and 5 days. I will be 19 on Wednesday. Almost half way!!
